A lunchtime ceremony was held in the Park to celebrate work starting on the restoration and improvement of St.James’ Park.

Councillor Phil Williams, Cabinet Member for Local Services and Communities, has been very supportive of this project from its early days, and was on hand to officially turn over the first turf to start off the development work.

Visitors to the Park enjoyed a Hog Roast that was kindly provided by our contractors Graham Moyse Contractors Ltd, and children enjoyed making badges and meeting Ivor Goodsite whose role is to promote safe behaviour on construction sites.

Southampton City Council provided its exhibition trailer, in which plans were displayed to show how the Park will be changing.
