FoSJP celebrated its first birthday in style, with Morris Dancersa Marionette show, storytelling sessions, a mobile climbing wall, traditional games, parachute games, and face painting among the many attractions during an afternoon at the Park.

At the History Stall, visitors had a chance to record their memories of the Park on video, with the help of the Southampton University History Society. This was a real success and thoroughly enjoyed by all – for example, Mrs Hazel Crates brought along some interesting photographs from about 1930 of her grandfather’s dairy delivery truck, featured in the Shirley Carnival and pictured in the Park.

Many thanks to all of you who came along and made our Birthday Party such a success!
