Our Local Dementia Friends Champion!

Dementia Friends is a social action movement that aims to improve society's understanding of dementia through just five key messages. There are thousands of Dementia Friends Champions - we're very pleased to announce that our Community Volunteer Coordinator, Marina Murphy (third from right), is now one of them.

Disco for Adults & Teenagers with Disabilities - Alternate Mondays

ActiveAbility Solent has organised a fortnightly disco for adults and teenagers with disabilities, at the ParkLife Community Room in St.James' Park, running from Monday 8th January through to Monday 19th March.

The Gardening Team gets help from the Army!

The FoSJP Gardening Team would like to give a big "Thank You" to four soldiers from the 17 Port & Maritime Regiment based in Marchwood, who volunteered their time and effort to help us by moving several tons of woodchip on a Saturday.

Feel Good Festival - Saturday 14th July

Feel Good Festival FoSJP is proud to present the Feel Good Festival, which will take place in the whole of St.James' Park in July. Our main aim is to celebrate life, and to create a space where likeĀ­minded people can meet each other and try out new activities. We're keen to promote health awareness and to engage the audience in an active lifestyle and healthy eating.

FoSJP invited all our volunteers - past, present, or future - to join us in the ParkLife Community Room on Saturday 9th December for a festive celebration of all that we've achieved in 2017, with team updates and seasonal music, accompanied by home‑baked goods, mulled wine, and hot drinks.

FREE Legal Advice Clinics - First Friday of the Month

Jennifer Pillinger, an experienced solicitor, held another FREE Legal Advice Clinic at St.James' Park on Friday 1st December. Please note that there will be no clinic in January - the next clinic will be on Friday 2nd February.

FoSJP Special General Meeting

FoSJP held a Special General Meeting at the ParkLife Community Room on Tuesday 28th November, to discuss a proposal from the FoSJP Committee that FoSJP becomes a registered charity (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) with a wider membership.
