Autumn Bulb Plant – Saturday 3rd November 2012

Over 70 willing planters took part in our Autumn Bulb Plant to help prepare St.James’ Park for next Spring, planting spring bulbs, including daffodils, irises, and crocuses, with help and expert advice from the FoSJP Gardening Team.

Planters included children, mums, dads, and grandparents, all of whom were rewarded with free hot chocolate from the ParkLife Café. There were also an Autumn Leaf Hunt, Label Making, and Make a Badge activities for the younger planters.

There was an impromptu talk about the artwork on the zipwire wall, sharing the good work of the USH students who raised the money for Arthur’s new bench, and one of FoSJP’s senior members, Ken Conway, was sharing information about the ARP and the building.

Thank you to our Community Coordinator, Jan Carr, and the FoSJP Gardening Team, who organised this event, and of course to everyone who came along and helped to plant bulbs – it should be a very colourful Spring!
